The Woods Gallery showcases a wide range of artists from the Detroit metropolitan area. We present not only established artists, but feature many up-and-coming artists as well.
Two-dimensional art is our main focus: oil, acrylic, watercolor,
prints, posters, photography, mixed media, and even textiles fill
our gallery space on a rotating basis. We exhibit work ranging from
traditional subject matter such as figure painting and still life
to more adventurous modern and abstract art. It is not unheard of
to find work such as black and white photographic scenes in and
around Detroit, or colorful vintage and modern rock & roll,
or even Dream Cruise posters at the Woods Gallery.
Unique and creative art from a different artist or group is available for viewing and purchase approximately every eight weeks. Join us for our "meet the artist" receptions where you can also hear about the inspiration behind the artwork. If you are interested in showing your work at the Woods Gallery, please refer to the information at the bottom of the Current Exhibit page.
The Woods Gallery (located in the lower level of the Huntington
Woods Library) is also available for meetings and events during
library hours. For availability information, go to our "contact
us" page.
